Smart Jacket Man

The Smart Jacket can be worn over or under any jacket and outfit, does not require connection to the motorcycle, is ventilated and easily foldable. It thus combines all the advantages of the last generation of Dainese D-air in a simple garment that can be worn anywhere.
All the safety of the Dainese airbag system used in MotoGP, developed over 25 years of research and testing on the road and on the track, is now combined in a simple jacket suitable for any use on the road. The Smart Jacket monitors what is happening around the motorcyclist 1000 times per second, activating the Shield always and only when it is really necessary. This ensures maximum protection for the wearer. A freedom that didn't exist before, and that you won't want to do without.

WHAT SIZE FITS ME?
The Smart Jacket can be worn over, as well as under the jacket. To choose the right size, please follow the instructions attached:

• If you want to wear the Smart Jacket under the jacket, measure your chest circumference only with the things you want to wear under the Smart Jacket e.g. (technical underwear, t-shirt).
  Note: You should leave 5 centimeters of space in the chest area and 5 cm in the back area for the airbag to work properly.
• If you want to wear the Smart Jacket over your jacket, measure your chest, including the jacket.
• Please check that the protectors are included with the jacket when you take the measurement.
• After you have taken all the necessary measurements, please use the table attached under documents to identify the correct size.

The fabric of the Smart Jacket is stretchy and should fit under / over most items in your standard size, however there may be exceptions for bulkier touring jackets.

Important information on use
To ensure that the systems function reliably, the following points should be observed:

• Use only for the intended purpose:
  The airbag is designed for motorcycling. Activities such as walking or running with the equipment activated can trigger false activations.
• Deactivate the system when not in use:
  Close the cover flap on the safety button and activate DEEP SLEEP mode to prevent accidental activation.
• Also avoid improper storage:
  Do not place the airbag on furniture, in motorcycle cases, or in cabinets while it is switched on. Accidental contact with the buttons could activate the system.
• Deactivate before dismounting:
  Open the on/off button, then wait for the shutdown sequence (rapid red flashing lights).
  This prevents accidental activation during refueling or other movements.
• Check battery status:
  Check the charge status before each ride – displayed on the user interface.

Why these rules are important
Compliance with these rules prevents false activations. However, if activation occurs due to improper use, this is not considered a defect. In this case, you will be responsible for the costs of restoration.

Good to know:

• Before using, the shorting plugs must be removed and connected to the cables of the vest.
• after triggering the vest must be sent in, because only trained personnel may take care of the repair of the gas cartridges and air bags - triggering service 249,95 EUR
• every three years the vest should be sent in for maintenance - the maintenance service at Dainese is free of charge. Only a shipping and handling fee of 59.99 EUR is charged

If you want to take the vest with you on the plane, you will find the declaration of clearance and BAM number from Dainese under Documents. These must be carried on the flight! The airline has to be informed about the transport of the vest when booking the flight.
